Jordan Walley of D’lberville, Miss., pledged first in the morning. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound defensive back is the younger brother of former Gopher corner Justin Walley, an all-Big Ten performer who was a third-round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2025.
Jordan Walley, also a dual-threat quarterback, had offers from Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas State and others. He threw for 1,368 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 776 yards and 16 TDs in 11 games, per MaxPreps. The three-star recruit is smaller than Justin, but is fast with a 4.4-second 40-yard dash and also participates in track and field.
Safety Maxwell Miles of Las Vegas flipped his commitment from Michigan on Sunday evening. He had offers from California, Vanderbilt, Oregon State and others. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder is a three-star recruit and the Gophers were considered the favorites for Miles until the Wolverines swayed him, but the U kept recruiting him and got him to change his mind.
Jamail Sewell and Dylan Mota have huge frames and will join the offensive line room.
Mota of Chicago is listed at 6-8 and 270 pounds and had offers from Indiana, Northwestern, North Carolina, Cincinnati and others. He had an official visit scheduled with the Hoosiers in mid-June. The projected right tackle is considered a high three-star recruit, per Rivals.
Sewell, who is listed at 6-6 and 285 pounds, is from Milwaukee. The three-star prospect had no other Power Four offers, but had offers from James Madison, Western Michigan, Toledo and others. The left tackle in high school also plays basketball; he might slide inside along the line on college.
Ma’atoe Moe and Kelsey Rose Jr. will help beef up the edge of the defensive line.
The 6-3, 240-pound Moe is from Provo, Utah and had offers from Nebraska, Brigham Young, Washington State and others. The three-star recruit also participates in track and field.
Rose of Jackson, Tenn., is listed at 6-4 and 245, and had offers from Northwestern, South Florida and others. He also played off-ball linebacker in high school.
Receiver Jayden Thomas of Las Vegas committed to the U over other offers from Nevada-Las Vegas, Vanderbilt, Cal, Oregon State, Washington State and others. The 6-foot- 175-pound target with a three-star rating is also a sprinter on the track and field team.
Thomas finished with 32 catches for 610 yards (19 yards per grab) and 11 touchdowns, per MaxPreps. He was clocked with a sub 4.4-second 40.
The Gophers are up to 23 pledges for next year’s class; one of the highest totals in the country, per 247Sports. The program will hist a second Summer Splash weekend in mid-June, but places in the class have become scarce.
