It will be the first game ever played at the Bills' brand new Highmark Stadium. The last time these two teams met was in a 48-42 thriller that the Bills won at Ford Field on Dec. 15, 2024. It was one of just two regular-season losses for the Lions in 2024 en route to the NFC's No. 1 seed.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff passed for 494 yards and five touchdowns. Bills quarterback Josh Allen countered with 362 passing yards and four total touchdowns.
Buffalo enters 2026 after a 12-5 season that ended in the AFC divisional round at Denver. The Lions were 9-8 in 2025, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2022.
