Flyers-Hurricanes Game 3: Lines, Notes, & How to Watch
· Yahoo Sports
The Philadelphia Flyers (0-2, 4-4) look to get back in the win column on Thursday when they host the Carolina Hurricanes (2-0, 6-0) for Game 3 of their Stanley Cup Playoff series at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Carolina holds the 2-0 lead after a dominating effort in Game 1, suffocating the Flyers’ offense. In Game 2, the Flyers put forward a much better effort, hanging with the Hurricanes and taking the game to overtime. The Flyers might have been the better team in OT, but came away with the loss.

Now, the Flyers will look to get back into the series with a win on Thursday, trying to avoid losing the first three games of the series.
The Flyers have only scored twice in the series. Both goals came within the first 5 minutes of Game 2. For the rest of the series, they’ve been held scoreless. Maybe the home crowd can give the Flyers a spark.
Puck drop is at 8:00 p.m. EST at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Here’s how the Flyers are expected to line up.

Game Notes
Thursday will be the Flyers’ first game without Noah Cates in the postseason. Cates is done for the series. He suffered an injury at some point in Game 1 and will miss the rest of the series with a lower-body injury. Cates has made a big impact on the Flyers this postseason. It will be interesting to see how much he is missed.
One of the players who is going to see a much bigger role in Cates’ absence is Denver Barkey.
Trevor Zegras and Denver Barkey will both be playing down the middle in Cates absence for the #Flyers, per Rick Tocchet.

Doesn’t sound like Jett Luchanko is even a thought for Game 3.
Barkey is expected to pick up some of the slack, solidifying his move back to the middle. While offensively, there are still things to be put together, Barkey is not a defensive liability at the position. I will be keeping an eye on how he reacts to a bigger role.
It seems like things have inched closer to Owen Tippett’s return. Tocchet would not confirm that Tippett will be out there on Wednesday, but he was at Wednesday’s practice. He’ll remain a game-time decision like he’s been all postseason. With Cates out, the Flyers will need all of the help they can get.
If Tippett does return to the lineup, I wonder how much adding his speed changes the game for Philly? They were able to force Carolina to overtime without Tippett on Monday. With his speed and offensive abilities, plus the home crowd behind them, a return will be a much-needed spark.
