UCLA softball end regular season as Top-10 in NFCA/GoRout Coaches Poll
· Yahoo Sports
No. 6 UCLA softball dropped down one spot in this week's 2026 NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll. It was released on Tuesday, May 5, being the first poll of the new month.
The Bruins consecutive losses to No. 11 Oregon without a doubt played a role in the 31 NCAA Division I head coaches' decision making. UCLA's 45-7 overall record and blowout in their season finale against the Ducks was enough to give them 595 points, which was three below No. 5 Tennessee's 598.

UCLA's bats have been electric over the course of the season with senior infielder Jordan Woolery leading with a .513 batting average and senior utility Megan Grant sending the softball ablaze with a 1.326 slugging percentage.
The Bruins defense was nothing to scoff at either. Although the pitching staff has been shaky at times, the trio of right handed pitchers senior Taylor Tinsley, redshirt junior Sydney Somerndike and sophomore Brynne Nally held the Ducks to three runs in their 11-3 run-rule win in the season finale on Senior Day.
Now that the regular season has concluded for UCLA, the Bruins play throughout the season has set them up well in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament, which begins on Wednesday, May 6. UCLA enters the tournament at No. 3, just behind No. 1 Nebraska and No. 2 Oregon.
Both Nebraska and Oregon won their series against the Bruins throughout the season winning two of their three matchups. The top three Big Ten teams, along with No. 4 Indiana, will start the tournament in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, May 7.
