Fitch senior etches name into state record books

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Austintown Fitch senior Kylie Folkwein hit 3 home runs in a 12-3 victory over state-ranked Strasburg in Strasburg on Tuesday afternoon.

Folkwein also drove in four runs in her career day. The Fitch star is a Division I Syracuse University Softball commit as well.
The senior’s 3 home run performance officially puts her into the OHSAA Softball history books, tied for second all-time with a list of other athletes.
The Falcons are currently ranked 1st in Division I per the coaches’ poll for the Ohio High School Softball Coaches Association. Strasburg is ranked 5th in Division VII.
Freshman pitcher Mila Hamley struck out 8 batters in a complete 7-inning game victory as well.
Also, Kaliana Ray hit a home run, and Abby Toth and Alyssa Rodgers drove in three runs each.
Fitch advances to 18-0 on the season.
