Tennessee picked up a commitment on Saturday, adding class of 2027 defensive back Carter Jamison to the class. Jamison is a 3-star prospect out of Fairburn, Georgia.

The 5-10, 180 pound prospect ranks outside of the top 1,000 overall currently, according to 247Sports. Jamison is coming off of a 2025 season where he picked off two passes, totaled 63 tackles (9 for loss) and registered four sacks. He helped Creekside High School to a 4A state title in the loaded state of Georgia.

Jamison held offers from South Florida, Wake Forest, East Carolina and several other smaller schools. He has official visits set up with South Florida (June 5th) and Tennessee (June 19th).

Jamison could be a fit for Jim Knowles at the nickel spot, according to his high school coach.

Tennessee is up to seven current commitments in their 2027 class. Jamison is the second addition in the secondary, joining 3-star safety Jaden Butler. 4-star receiver Kesean Bowman continues to headline the group, slotting in as the 70th overall player in the class, per 247Sports.

Tennessee and the rest of the college football world will see the recruiting process really pick up over the next couple of months as official visit season gets going in June.
