Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas recorded his 1,000th MLB hit Monday at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies, and commented on the sentiment he had regarding the stadium.

Rojas made his MLB debut with the Dodgers at Coors Field in 2014, and recorded the first of his 1,001 hits at the ground.

“Coors Field for me is always going to hold a special place,” said Rojas. “This was the first clubhouse that I ever walked into as a major leaguer. And I got the opportunity to make my debut here with Kersh on the mound.

“I will never forget that moment, when I got my first hit on a rainy day at Coors Field. And now I got the chance to say that I connect for hit 1,000 here. … This one for me is something that I’m really going to cherish for the rest of my life.”

Rojas hit his 999th knock in the second inning—a solo home run to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead—and singled to reach the milestone in his next at-bat in the fourth.

How has Miguel Rojas Performed in 2026?

Rojas hasn’t been an everyday player following his heroics in the World Series in 2025, but still has an important role to play within the team.

He began the year platooning second base with Alex Freeland, but shifted over to shortstop following Mookie Betts’ move to the injured list earlier in April. Since that move, Rojas has taken a similar platoon role with Hyeseong Kim.

The veteran infielder has played 14 games this season, and has a staggering .382/.421/.529 slash line to go with his one home run and three RBIs.

Rojas has been fantastic with the glove as per usual, and currently sits in he 96th percentile of MLB with three outs above average and in the 88th percentile with a plus-2 fielding run value.

When Will Rojas Play Next?

Rojas may not get too many opportunities to start in the Dodgers’ next series against the San Francisco Giants, as all of the pitchers they’re set to face throw right-handed. Kim will likely get the lion’s share of reps for the next three games, but Rojas could very well enter the game to give the Dodgers a favorable matchup against one of the Giants’ left-handed bullpen arms.

The Dodgers currently lead the NL West by one game over the San Diego Padres, and sit seven games in front the Giants. They’ll look to extend their lead and further improve their MLB-best record in the first game of the series, which comes Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. PT.
