‘File under pointless signings’ – Journalist slams Chelsea player who’s become a ghost
· Yahoo Sports
The ghost of Marc Guiu is sometimes seen on a Chelsea subs bench now and then, but rarely does it appear on the pitch.
You can spot it in training too, but as far as wearing a Chelsea shirt goes, that is often just being forced to stay underneath a jacket on match days at best.

Guiu has been described as a pointless signing by journalist Matt Law this week as he assesses some of the signings BlueCo have made for the club.
Law has been going through a list of players that he would sell at Chelsea this summer, and Guiu is of course one of the names on the list.
Guiu a pointless signing?

In the article for The Telegraph today, Law says:
‘File under pointless signings. Marc Guiu was among the substitutes against City at the weekend and yet it is hard to think of a scenario which might have seen the young striker sent on. Still only 20, Guiu may well go on to have a successful career and it is far too early to write him off. But the £5m signing from Barcelona is very unlikely to ever get a proper chance at Chelsea and keeping him would not do the player nor the team much good. A club with Chelsea’s ambitions should not have room for players such as Guiu on the bench.’
