49ers take 2 Alabama players in new mock draft
· Yahoo Sports
The San Francisco 49ers have two late picks in each of the first two rounds at Nos. 27 and 58. It's a position the team is familiar with, and one where they can still trust themselves to find quality talent that fills positions of need both in the immediate and long-term.

The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner went with an all-offense approach in his newest mock draft. He landed on Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor with the No. 27 pick before taking Crimson Tide teammate Germie Bernard, a receiver, at No. 58.
The most physically impressive human in this draft class, Proctor (6-7, 352) has rare body control for his size. Physically, he has All-Pro potential. On the field, however, he can be inconsistent in protection and might need a year on the bench (or some time at guard) before being trusted as a blindside protector.
Proctor would effectively be looked at as the heir to Trent Williams' role on the offensive line. He's a true left tackle with ample college experience at a big program, but lacks some of the fundamentals that some believe are necessary to be an immediate starter. Ideally, he would sit behind Williams in 2026 before taking over in 2027, but who knows what Williams' immediate future is with the team right now.
Bernard, meanwhile, is another depth piece who would likely become a staple on the offense in a year or two once Mike Evans is done playing football. He caught 64 passes for 862 yards and seven touchdowns this past season for Alabama with his 6-foot-2, 206-pound frame. Bernard would be the WR4 to start the year behind Evans, Ricky Pearsall and Christian Kirk but could easily move up the depth chart if he proves himself.
The 49ers don't have a third-round pick after the Osa Odighizuwa trade, but this is still a solid two-round class for San Francisco heading into 2026.
