LeBron James snapped into dad mode at the Los Angeles Lakers game last night.

In a now viral clip, LeBron appears upset at Bronny on the court after his attempted pass to his dad was blocked by Marvin Bagley III of the Mavericks. At the time, the Lakers were down by eight points with five minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The four-time NBA champion appeared to gesture for a bounce pass to Bronny, signaling that he should have opted for that instead of the direct pass that was blocked midair. Game commentators then called out the father-son interaction during the broadcast.

"I love that look. That was not just LeBron the veteran, that was also LeBron the dad!" the commentators said, as seen in the clip shared on Instagram. "Watch his look at his son... bounce pass!"

It's been a frustrating season for the Lakers, who've been decimated by injuries affecting many of its star players. Luka Dončić suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain against the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 2, while Austin Reaves suffered a Grade 2 left oblique muscle injury in the same game

Dončić is hoping to expedite his return by seeking specialized medical treatment in Europe, with the goal of rejoining the Lakers this postseason, according to ESPN on Sunday. Reaves, meanwhile, is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season, with uncertainty surrounding his availability for the start of the playoffs.

"It was a shot to the heart and to the chest and the main frame with Luka, and we got that news kind of quick," James said after the Lakers’ loss to the Mavericks on Sunday night. "And [Reaves], he’s kind of dealing with the pain, we’re saying, 'OK, whatever the case may be.' "

On March 27, James and Bronny made history with the first father-son assist in an NBA game when the Lakers took on the Brooklyn Nets. Bronny hit a 3-pointer after a pass from his dad in the second quarter of the game, and the Lakers went on to a 116-99 victory.

The James duo previously made NBA history as the first father and son to play together at an NBA game back in October 2024.

James has been vocal about playing with his son, an experience that he doesn't take for granted. Speaking on Jason and Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast in January 2025, the NBA icon compared the father-son opportunity to the accolades he's earned throughout his career.

"When it comes to the titles, that's one separate thing," he said. "But to be able to play in this league and also being able to do it alongside Bronny right now, that's one of the biggest accomplishments and probably the No. 1 accomplishment I've ever been able to do."

He added, "To work with your son — I've heard it from a lot of people and, not only [in] sports, but I've heard it in business and [other] walks of life, and they say it's the greatest thing you could ever have."
