Lombard didn't waste any time at all hitting the ground running.
The shortstop phenom went 5-for-6 to make his early season batting average .833.
That included a double, a home run and a steal. Not a bad day at the office.

Lombard wasn't the only Yankees minor leaguer to have a big day on Friday.
Jasson Dominguez, down at Triple-A with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, was part of a 17-4 win for the Railriders in Rochester.
In that victory, Dominguez was 3-for-3 with a pair of walks. His batting line included a double and a home run.
On the young season, Dominguez is batting .400, and he has an OPS of 1.228.

In that same game, 6-foot-7 outfield prospect Spencer Jones went 2-for-5, with both hits going for doubles.
Lombard is hoped to be the Yankees' shortstop of the future, while Dominguez and Jones will have to keep making their cases to earn spots in New York's crowded outfield down the road.
