From a fifth-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2017 to a strong NFL career.

That's the journey Anthony Walker Jr. traveled as a hard-working, strong-leading linebacker.

Walker has now ended that NFL journey -- he announced his retirement from football in a post on his Instagram:

Walker, 30, spent his first four NFL seasons with the Colts. He started games in all four of those campaigns, including 32-of-32 in 2019 and 2020.

Walker totaled 343 tackles with the Colts, including 124 in the 2019 season.

In 2021, Walker left for the Cleveland Browns, where he spent three seasons. His first season there was the best, with 113 tackles. Walker dealt with heavy injury troubles while with the Browns.

He spent the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins, making 68 tackles.

In 2025, Walker suited up for just two games in limited action for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and didn't record a tackle.

Injuries definitely hampered Walker in the second half of his career, but he was a talented guy who made the most of his opportunity after being that fifth-round pick out of Northwestern.
