Texas Tech basketball dominated by Alabama to end March Madness run

TAMPA, Fla. — The Texas Tech basketball team got down big early and couldn't recover in a 90-65 loss to Alabama in the second round of the 2026 men's NCAA Tournament on Sunday in Benchmark International Arena.
The Crimson Tide blitzed the Red Raiders from beyond the arc, hitting 14 3-pointers by the under-4 media timeout of the second half, which was a season-high given up by Texas Tech (23-11) at the time. Alabama wound up hitting 19 3s in the game, the most an opponent has hit against Texas Tech since the start of the 2010-11 season.

Latrell Wright hit six 3s and finished with 24 points for Alabama. Labaron Philon had a career-high 12 assists.
LeJuan Watts had a team-high 16 points with Donovan Atwell adding 12 and Leon Horner 10 off the bench for Texas Tech. Christian Anderson was held to seven points on 2-of-11 shooting overall and 1-of-7 from 3.
Texas Tech shot just 34% for the game and 16% from 3-point range, going 4-of-25 from beyond the arc.
