Star mid-major forward enters the transfer portal

· Yahoo Sports

Right after the season is an interesting time in college basketball, as many players at the end of benches enter the transfer portal in hopes of an opportunity on the court elsewhere. At a much lesser rate, accomplished star players enter the portal looking to potentially contribute at a higher level for their final seasons.

That's exactly the case for Bellarmine Knights forward Jack Karasinski, who averaged 21.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game during the 2025-26 season. He's set to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer, per On3's Pete Nakos.

The Knights finished seventh in the ASUN, going 13-19 overall and 7-11 in conference play. They were bounced in the quarterfinals of the ASUN tournament, not even sniffing an NCAA tournament appearance despite Karasinski scoring 23 points in the loss.

The 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward began his career at William & Mary, where he started 13 games in two seasons before entering the portal and landing at Bellarmine. He averaged 15.4 points a season ago but blossomed as a senior, becoming one of the top players in the conference and among all mid-majors.

With four years of college basketball under his belt and an excellent 3-point stroke, as Karasinski shot 41.5% from deep during the 2025-26 season, the former Knights forward could be one of the top portal additions for a power conference team this offseason.

As a graduate transfer, Karasinski will have one season of eligibility remaining.
