Heyman's take came with news that Atlanta will be without Specner Strider to begin the 2026 campaign, adding to their starting pitching troubles.
Braves absolutely need to sign Lucas Giolito now. Spencer Strider is the latest loss, hitting the IL with an oblique. Other recent hits: (Schwellenbach, Waldrep, Wentz, Profar). And since they are owned by a public company, we know they make a huge profit.

Giolito delivered a strong rebound season in 2025 for the Red Sox. After sitting out all of 2024 with an elbow injury, the right-hander went 10-4 with a 3.41 ERA in 26 starts, covering 145 innings while recording 121 strikeouts and a 1.29 WHIP. His steady presence helped anchor the rotation during a competitive year for Boston.
Across nine major league seasons, the 2012 first-round pick now owns a 71-66 record, 4.30 ERA, 1,198 strikeouts, and 14.5 WAR. An All-Star with the Chicago White Sox in 2019, Giolito has pitched for multiple clubs since debuting with the Washington Nationals organization.
