Ex-Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle on trade: 'It’s part of the business'

The Denver Broncos made a blockbuster move during the second week of NFL free agency, trading multiple draft picks to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

During an introductory conference call with reporters in Denver, Waddle was asked if he had any inclination that he could be traded, and he was asked for his initial impressions of his new team.

“I mean, you never know," Waddle said. "It’s the NFL, so you never know for sure and what could happen. It’s part of the business. It’s been great. My time here has been great. It feels like home, feels like family. Everyone has been welcoming. It’s been great.”

The Broncos previously checked in on Waddle's status ahead of the in-season deadline last November. Waddle was asked if he was aware of the team's interest last season.

“Yes, a little bit," Waddle said. "It was hearsay, so you never know what’s true and what’s not true. So you can say I was.”

It happened four months later, but Waddle ultimately did land in Denver. He will now team up with Courtland Sutton to give Bo Nix a dynamic receiver duo going into the quarterback's third season in the NFL.
