NFL insider pours cold water on Jeremiyah Love to the Tennessee Titans

Considering the moves the Tennessee Titans have made so far this offseason, it's not a huge surprise that some analysts began predicting that the Titans would select Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love with the No. 4 overall pick.

However, there are still those (this writer included) who believe the Titans will select a defensive player with that pick because it satisfies new head coach Robert Saleh's plan.
On Wednesday, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter suggested that the Jeremiyah Love watch begins with the New York Giants at No. 5.

Looking at the Titans' changes this offseason, Schefter first compares them to the New England Patriots.
"If Cam Ward is turned around," Schefter says. "And if Cam Ward is playing up to his potential from Daboll, watch out for the Titans."
The Pat McAfee Show co-host Ty Schmit talks about how Schefter hasn't even considered Jeremiyah Love.
"A lot of people think he might be the best player in the draft." While Schmit is talking, Schefter is shaking his head and says, "Yeah, he might be the best player in the draft. That would surprise me if he's at four. I think the Love watch starts at five with the Giants, and it's on from five through nine."
The two continue their conversation about Love and where he could land, but it's clear by Schefter's words and the look on his face that he simply does not believe that the Titans will take Love with the No. 4 overall pick.
His words set social media on fire and have the Giants licking their chops at the prospect of being able to select a dynamic player like Love. All of the pre-draft talk is speculation, for the most part. Teams often don't let the world know what their plan is because someone will try to sabotage it, so they deflect and speculate in public while the real conversations are happening behind closed doors.
Maybe we'll get a leak, maybe we won't, but either way, the Titans can't lose, no matter who they select with the No. 4 pick. Love, Rueben Bain, David Bailey, Sonny Styles, Carnell Tate, and Caleb Downs all have the potential to be drafted there, if available. Any one of them would be a welcome addition to the roster and instantly make it better.
