Bears GM Ryan Poles addresses Maxx Crosby trade interest
· Yahoo Sports
The Chicago Bears have been busy making moves in free agency bolstering the roster in head coach Ben Johnson's second season, which includes the new additions of safety Coby Bryant and linebacker Devin Bush.
While they didn't make a big splash, they were linked to Maxx Crosby as the Las Vegas Raiders shopped a trade that ultimately fell through with the Baltimore Ravens. Naturally, general manager Ryan Poles was asked about the Bears' potential interest in trading for Crosby, and he confirmed that the interest was there.

"We’re always going to monitor every situation," Poles said. "...We were involved. We checked into it. We looked to see if it made sense. Had some dialogue. I'll leave it at that."
The Bears need to upgrade their pass rush, be it off the edge or the interior, this offseason after totaling just 35 sacks last season. Chicago was relatively quiet in free agency in the defensive trenches, signing a couple of depth defensive tackles in Neville Gallimore and Kentavius Street, so the need is still there.
Ultimately, the Ravens backed out of the Crosby trade due to medical concerns, which opens the door once again for the Bears to make a move. While Las Vegas is adamant that Crosby will play for the Raiders this season, there's always the possibility that, if the offer is right, they'll deal him. We'll see if Chicago continues to monitor the situation as the offseason progresses.
