Former captains MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma walked together with the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Dhoni and Rohit are both T20 WC captains, with Rohit being the defending champion. Dhoni was the first ever to lift the trophy way back in 2007.

MS Dhoni and Rohit were captains when India previously won the ICC T20 World Cup. In the first-ever edition, it was MS Dhoni who led the Men in Blue to the title against Pakistan in the final at Johannesburg.
Rohit Sharma was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning team, playing a key role in India's win. He later became captain and added a second title 17 years later, leading India to a win in the 2024 edition.
