New Titans edge Jermaine Johnson makes recruiting pitch to free agent

· Yahoo Sports

The NFL free agency period is always exciting and unpredictable, with teams banking on upgrades to help turn them into contenders. This year, Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi has a tough task ahead: rebuilding a roster that must add talent across the board.

Armed with the most salary cap space in the league, the Titans will have a chance to add some solid talent to the roster, and, of course, fans on social media enjoy sharing their knowledge and ideas about who the organization should target. But sometimes, those suggestions come from unexpected places.

Recently acquired defensive end Jermaine Johnson took to social media and posted a cryptic message pointed directly at Denver Broncos defensive tackle John Franklin-Myers, who is an unrestricted free agent.

This should not come as a surprise; not only do the Titans need defensive line help, but Johnson and Franklin-Myers were teammates with the New York Jets under head coach Robert Saleh.

Franklin-Myers would be an outstanding addition and help solidify the new-look Titans front with some inside/outside versatility. Over the past two seasons with the Broncos, he has been solid, making 31 starts and recording 14.5 sacks, 92 quarterback pressures, and 41 defensive stops. He was a consistent force on one of the NFL's elite defenses, and his addition would make perfect sense.
